The sleepy town of Basrur and the ambience in the homestay will give you soothing experience for the mind and soul. The water around the island is a home to several fresh water fishes.
Barcelore, one of the ancient trading town in the Coastal Karnataka is located very close to the island. The Arabian sea is few miles away from the southern tip of the island.
