Coorg in Karnataka – A well known holiday getaway

Luxury transport and holiday accommodation services have replaced the bygone era’s outdated services in Karnataka. Thanks to the awareness in tourism industry and the infrastructure developed my state government. The tourism in Karnataka has grown umpteen numbers of times in size and luxury. Today, planning a holiday is much easier and safer and pampered with best packages. Here is a small travelogue we decided to write on Coorg visit which we did as a holiday and adventure in combo. It was not a holiday for us at all, we all are corporate working community who spend most of time before computers. We all shed our routine work environment and decided to visit Coorg/Kodagu district in Karnataka.

Which is our starting point?

We all are living in Bangalore and started our journey from Jayanagar from one of our friend’s house. We planned it as a common pick up point and got our luggages dumped there previous evening. This was a trip we planned for more than 4 nights stay. So we wanted to carry sufficient supply of clothes and other stuff. We had booked a Tempo Traveler (TT) through travel chords holidays.

Starting time and plan of check at hotel?

We all started early in the morning that is 6 AM, it was required because our check in was after 12 at the travelchords resort. It was a fun filled journey and the early morning mist made it all the more pleasant and refreshing. The moment we left Bangalore city we all were like free birds, out of traffic, pollution and in to the greenery…

Where did we stay?

We stayed at a TravelChords partner hotel with packages designed exclusively for corporate or group bookings. We all loved the property, suroundings and the staff who were very professional. The resort has all the activities and we also had planned some trekking outside of this with a local guide. This guide was again by our holiday service provider.

How was the experience?

We rated it 4 stars out of 5 and 1 negative marking is because it was little far from the trekking point we had planned. Overall ambience, location, food, hospitality, staff professionalism all was awesome. We all wondered whether it is a start category resort or a regular resort.

Was the entire value for money?

Very much, we had kept a high budget actually but trave chords customer support took requirements and custom designed it very accurately. The professionalism shown by travelchords team is appreciated by all of us at every level till we return back to Bangalore.

What are the activities we did in Coorg?

We had loads of fun and entertainment at Coorg. We went for adventure trekking, quad biking, off roading, coracle rides, swimming in the river (with life jackets and under supervision) and visited all major sightseeing places.

Honestly speaking all these things went really well because we had expert travel adviserstelling us and giving options that would suit our requirements. We had tweaked a few of the package details but majority we just went ahead with the expert team’s advice. It worked very well, we all enjoyed and it was a value for money experience.
