This place is named after the Kapila or Kabini River in Karnataka, southern India. This river is originated from the Wayanad district of Kerala and flows eastward to join the Kaveri River and empties into the Bay of Bengal. The huge Kabini Reservoir is formed close to the town called Sargur and is a well-known wildlife holiday destination in Karnataka.
